I really think this turned out super cute.
I knew it would involve corn, but that’s it.It must always involve corn!.
I tried hanging those lights up across the back of the room thinking it would just look like a disaster and the black plastickyness of the cord would clash with all the natural elements I had in mind.So I stood back and I looked.It was obvious at that moment what was happening here:.
The Fall fair was coming to my mud room!.The Fall fair is a place where flashy lights mix perfectly with corn mazes, food stands, displays of pumpkins and mums, and plenty of live stock.. Every Fall on (Canadian) Thanksgiving long weekend, there’s a Fall fair here that we really enjoy going to.
I thought this would be a great way to set the mood..
I used plenty o’ corn, and some rubber boots for stomping through all that mud when you’re visiting the horses and chickens.. $3 mums from Walmart get all fancy in a galvanized pail with some burlap and ribbon.Stay tuned for that.
I hope I can pull it off!.Great progress overall, but still so many little things on the to-do list!.
Some not-so-little things are still needing to be done too.The area rug is probably going to be the biggest expense, but I’ll be so happy to have a lot of that vinyl flooring covered up until we get around to putting down the hardwood floors in here..
